ajira - Beautiful!

Indian | Christian Wedding ~ Estancia La Jolla Resort & Spa

Okay, so let me give you a little truth here. I have a hard time blogging. I know it is no surprise to you and I know you are out there agreeing with me too. Why? Well I try to focus my energy on my clients and blogging seems to always come last on the list and I always have something that seems more important. Then, I look at all the images I would love to share with my friends on my blog and I feel guilty and I know I should do more. So, I am excited to tell you that I am really making an effort to blog a lot more! So here is the first day of blogging a lot more and I hope you enjoy it.

So, because it has been a while I decided to start off with an absolute phenomenal wedding I shot. The Wedding was at the Estancia in La Jolla. There are so many reasons that was super excited about this wedding but the first was that Rebecca and Jayant are just such incredible people. Jayant is a brain surgeon which just blows my mind, no pun intended, and on his days off you can find him down on the dock playing sax and collecting change. Rebecca on top of being an amazing nurse is the most considerate, kind and caring individuals I think I have ever met. When you meet the two of them it is really an incredible treat.

The next thing that made me know for sure that is was going to be an outstanding wedding is that they hired the amazing, Heather from Amorology to design and coordinate the event. Then on top of that they selected the Estancia for a location. I was in heaven!

Okay, let me try to stop gushing and show you some images.

Bay Area Family Shoot- Robinson Family

Oh how much I love the Robinson Family.  I first met them a couple years ago when they hired me to shoot their wedding.  I first saw how special on their engagement session that we shot in Palm Springs.  These two were so obviously madly in love.  They were already legally married but they had decided to have the big celebration when the time was right and man was it a beautiful celebration!  Since then they have expanded that family to include not one but two beautiful children.

Last year they moved to Monterey, CA so I headed to Monterey for their family shoot.  Monterey is not only beautiful but has a really mystical feel to it with the fog and the amazing Monterey Cypress trees.  Wait till you see the trees!!!!

How adorable is this baby!!!!  Makes baby photography look so easy when you have such a great model.

I especially love the seagull in this shot.  I told him to do that.  Chris is one of the sweetest dads I have ever seen.  He is so patient and loving and you can tell how much he loves his family.  It is a beautiful thing to capture.Bay Area Family Portraits, Sara France Photography

Here it is, the Monterey Cypress Tree.  I love this shot.  It just shows how much fun they have with their kids.

The Montery Cypress Tree also looks awesome when you photograph it from below.  It is my favorite angle on them.

Thank you Robinson family for sharing your lives with me, for bringing me out to Monterey and for always being such amazing hosts to me.  I can’t wait to do it again next year!

I love traveling family portraits and I especially love seeing my wedding clients again and capturing the growth of their families!  If you are looking for a Portrait Photographer in Monterey, CA give me a call.  Since I already have clients in the area I would love to do some more sessions while I am in town.

Military Dream Wedding Giveaway

Yesterday was Veteran’s Day.  I twittered about my father because he is a Vietnam Vet and I am very aware of the sacrifice that he still makes today for his service.  If any of you know a Vietnam Vet you probably know what I am talking about.  The medical issues that have surfaced over the years for him continue to effect his life on a daily basis.  This is one of my favorite pictures of us when I was younger.  Mainly because of my killer hair do.

Sara France as a child

Yesterday I also thought a lot about other members of my family that have served and continue to serve.  My grandmother was in the service and my brother in law is currently a Navy Seal.  He and his family were just relocated to the other side of the country.  I miss them already!  We all make sacrifices in some way.  We often forget the people like my sister and my niece who moved to the other side of the country to a completely new city to support our the freedoms we enjoy.

I am sure right now you are feeling grateful for their service and wishing there was something that you could do to show your support.  For years I have been feeling that way and always looking for something that I could do to give back to those who choose to sacrifice for me.

My chance to give back…..A couple months ago I got a call from an incredible coordinator in Colorado who I worked with recently on Melissa and Justin’s Wedding in Downtown Denver.  She, Joanna Bailey,  told me all about this great idea she had to give a military couple their dream wedding. I was thrilled!  Of course Joanna wanted to make sure I was aware I would need to come out to Denver for the wedding.  So TOMORROW I will be traveling to Denver to shoot the wedding of Active Duty Marine Corporal Curtis Evans and Fiance Kendra Johnson, both from North Carolina!

Joanna and I have both been completely overwhelmed by the generosity of so many people and businesses.  This is the first time I have never had the opportunity to see how peoples hearts open up when you give them an opportunity to give to back.  Last I checked the gifts and donations for this wedding were around $80,000.  Wow!  This wedding is going to be SO incredible.

There are a couple people that I asked to get involved in the giving and they jumped right in with both feet and no questions asked.  First, my second photographer, Katie Van Buren.  She was the first one I called and she was so excited to be a part of the event.  Second, Shoot Dot Edit, for so generously donating the post production for this wedding!  I use Shoot Dot Edit to edit all my weddings and I could not do this without their support!

If you want to do something for this couple you can support the companies and people who are making it happen.

Chad Morgan - Katie is the bomb-diggity! How did it go? Did you get stuck here due to the snow? Hope you are well Miss France.

Mark Valentine - I love the patriotism of the people of the USA. Rest of the world should feel ashamed by what they “don’t” do for their service personnel.

Evie Perez - Wow!!! You left me in tears while reading this post. How awesome to be able to give this couple a gift that they will always cherish. I am a military wife so I know exactly how you feel about giving back to our military families. Thanks a billion!!!

Downtown San Diego Portrait ~ Nea and Family

Oh the beautiful Nea!  I feel this need to tell you all about Nea.  She is such a beautiful and strong woman.  She is a mother, and a wife.  I had such an amazing time on our shoot.  I was so blessed by her beauty and her soft nature.  She is one of those women who has no idea how beautiful she is.

Nea is the wife of Chad Morgan of Chad Morgan Photography in Colorado.  Chad is an extremely talented photographer!  So right about now you are thinking, so why did he hire you to take pictures of his wife.  That of course was the first question that I asked him when he called.  Chad’s most difficult subject has always been his beautiful wife because as we all know, when our significant other wants to take a picture of us we for some reason turn into this crazy, goofy. shy versions of ourselves.  Nea needed a woman’s touch and she deserved a photoshoot all her own.  So we started the Portrait Shoot in Downtown San Diego…

You have no idea how badly I wanted to cut my hair short again after this shoot.  Her hair is freaking hot!  I love it!

Nea is laughing here because there was some guy in his underwear calling out about how hot she was from a hotel across the street.  I know, you thought it was because I was funny.  I thanked the guy if that makes it any better.

So, I had to make one stipulation that when we were done with Nea’s shoot we would meet up for a couple pictures of the whole family.  Since I know that is something that we photographers can not do ourselves.  I fell in love with their daughter.  She is totally a reflection of her parents.  Beautiful, playful, and fun!  ADORABLE!
