One of my favorite subjects to photograph is other San Diego Photographers. It is always an honor and if there is anyone who trusts a photographer’s direction, it is another photographer. A few months ago I was down in Little Italy doing a second shooter training with a few other San Diego Photographer friends and when we wrapped the light was so beautiful I decided it would be a great time to shoot my friend, second photographer, and fellow SD Photographer, David Manning.
David and I met last year. He actually tells a funny little story about the meeting on his blog
There is no doubt that David is not a hard subject to photograph. He loves to have a good time and be goofy but when I ask him for it, there is a serious side that David can bring. It does take a little coaxing but it is there. You may remember my twitter comment a few weeks ago and since then everyone has been bugging me to post some of these images. They all want to know which image made me say, “editing some portfolio shots I did for @DavidManning88 and there is one in particular that made both Nicole and I say, “ooohhh wwwoooowww” That shot is the last one on the post. Love David’s expression! BTW if you do not already follow me on twitter you can find me at @sarafrance
This first shot was taken out side of my friends office, Marc Aguilar, in Little Italy. His company is called encompus and they do incredible commercial design along with the fact that Marc is the lead guru when it comes to color. When someone is talking about color Marc is the one they talk to! He is awesome and an old friend. We love to tell back in the day stories when we hang out. Thanks for the great design on the building guys. Made for a great backdrop!

Caption reads, “David Manning, the man the legend, the photographer”

I think this one is my favorite photo of David. It really shows his happy and fun personality but the casual side of his personality as well.

I saved the best for last…. “ooohhh wwwoooowww”

David, thanks again for the inproptue little shoot. Little Italy was the perfect back drop and you were an okay subject too.
