I recently had the opportunity to shoot an amazing wedding in Cabo San Lucas. I had so much fun shooting Amy & Jimmy’s engagement session in San Francisco. From all the fun we had on that shoot, I knew shooting with Amy & Jimmy surrounded by their incredible Cabo San Lucas Wedding would be a dream.
I was also really excited because I got to take my incredibly talented associate photographer & boyfriend, Jeremy. On our way there, he shared some great information & history with me and I wanted to share a little of that with you. He is a wealth of knowledge. Cabo San Lucas is right on the edge of the Baja Peninsula, “El Arco”. The natural landmark, formed in the shape of an arch at the southernmost tip is the place where the deep blue pacific ocean joins the sea of cortez. The beach at the tip of the peninsula is called “lover’s beach.” This peninsula is not only beautiful above water it is also beautiful below the water. Jeremy and I had the chance to scuba dive the area a couple days before the shoot. This was the creation of Playa Del Amor “Lovers Beach”. The only way to get to Lover’s Beach is by Water Taxi.
A few days after the wedding we came back to the Rui Palace where the wedding was held for a post-wedding fashion shoot which some others have named, Trash the Dress Shoot. During most Trash the Dress shoots, the dress is never harmed, Amy & Jimmy on the other hand had no problem getting a little down & dirty on Lovers Beach! We have so many great wedding shots that we have been pouring through to decide what to post but I wanted to show you a few of the Trash the Dress first to give a little taste of what’s to come.
Our adventure began on the waters edge of our incredible hotel, The Riu Palace Hotel. The rock formations behind the couple in this shot is lover’s beach to give you a little perspective of where we are heading!
The Cabo San Lucas water taxi company that drove us to Lovers Beach was so great! They were very accommodating to us!
The rock formations at Lovers Beach were so cool! The colors were something I have never seen before.
We ended our shoot in the pool at the Riu Palace Hotel. The Riu Palace was the same place where they held their destination wedding & where all the family & guests stayed as well.
If your getting married in Cabo, The Riu is the place to have your destination wedding!!
