brilliant, brilliant work. my best friend is indian and his wife is also catholic, and this has a lot of the same vibe as their indian ceremony. colors and detail are wonderful. i love the shot of the groom waiting to come out and you caught his glance and smile perfectly.

I’ve heard photogs suggest simply taking out everything fragile and stuffing them into your jacket/vest/pockets if they must check your luggage, because most policies don’t cover that. And be nice & professional to the extent you can bear.
Something I bet everybody would wish not have to deal with!

I recently read a review of airline service and Continental was the top hated airline on the list. So sorry you had to deal with that! This is one reason I try to stay true to a single airline — not just buying the cheapest ticket I can get — even if it occasionally means paying more for a flight. When you wave that Executive/Diamond/Über-Gold card airline staff gets a LOT friendlier and more helpful. One otherwise-missed connection makes up for a year of sometimes inconvenient dedication.

Wow!! All I can say is that Continental had a VERY fired-up Frances to deal with after that madness. On a positive note, at least I got my excercise sprinting through the airport and I wasn’t givng ANYONE a break till I got a hotel room…which I did. See you soon girl- it’s gonna take a LOT more than that to hold me down!!!

As a traveling wedding photographer, I can totally relate to the crappyness of this situation. I hope it is resolved safely and that there’s a happy ending!
I know it’s too late now, and if this flight wasn’t totally full, then what I’m about to say doesn’t apply directly, but everybody should remember: When a plane is 100% full and your bag is an overhead compartment bag, there is simply not enough room and some bags MUST be checked. This is something everyone needs to think about- if you’re among the last 15-20 people onto a FULL plane, you WILL be checking that overhead carry-on, or you’ll be missing your plane. People just don’t respect the carry-on size requirements anymore these days, they think that if they can fit it in the compartment, they can bring it. They don’t realize they’re taking up more than their share. That little size guide at the check-in counter is tiny for a reason- if everybody’s bag were THAT small, every single person on the plane could bring one.
Anyways, THIS is exactly why I bought my Tenba Messenger bag. It fits two mid-size camera bodies, (without a grip. LOSE THE GRIP when you travel, or at least put it in your checked luggage) …two mid-sized 2.8 zooms, (A 24-70 2.8 or 70-200 f/4 fits easily, a 70-200 2.8 fits without a body attached; probably have to pack the hood / collar in your checked luggage, too) …a small prime or two, one or two hotshoe flashes depending on how many lenses you packed, AND a 13″ or 15″ laptop. And of course, batteries etc. So basically, everything you might use that is expensive or mission-critical.

The problem with some workers is that they are taught to follow orders with no possible variations or exceptions. Continental staff should have been more flexible with Frances. Twitter this story I am sure they will read it!

Wow. I am praying that Frances is okay & that she will get to Mexico early tomorrow!! Have you ever seen that scene in “Meet the Parents” with that crazy flight attendant…? Comon’ & get down to Mexico Frances, Sara needs you!
Wow, that makes me hurt. I cannot believe it! I also can’t believe the flight attendant cried. That is worth something but does not fix the crappy situation. DANG IT! How sad!
