My good friend and awesome photographer, Betsey McCue, joined me for this wedding and took some killer detail shots while I was shooting the family.

Their grandmothers were just the sweetest ladies.  They needed their own portrait!

Sarah’s dad was tearing it up on the dance floor!  LOVE it!

After the wedding was over we jumped in a car and went down to the vineyard for some pictures at my favorite time of day with my favorite light.  The Thomas Fogarty Winery was so great about letting us use their property for some images.  Note: no grapes were harmed during this shoot.

It was looking for the perfect vineyard for the night time spot and we came across this spot.  It was not until the coordinator came up that I realized we were in the wine makers back yard.  Oops but so amazing, right?  He was smart to make this his view as well.  Mr. Thomas Fogarty, thank you for letting us use your backyard!

At the very end of the night when I had completely worn them out and worn out my welcome at the Thomas Fogarty Winery the couple had one last request: a picture with me.  I was honored.  Sarah and Peter you are such an incredible couple and I was so blessed to have been there to capture your day.

Robyn came to me through her sister, Kristen Garuba, of Pink Papaya Events.  Kristen is an extremely talented coordinator and event designer as you will see.  I have worked with Kristen several times and I was so excited to be a part of the wedding of her sister.  For the first time Kristen was a bridesmaid.  So fun to see her be able to enjoy an event that she put together and to see her family there enjoying it as well!

This wedding at the Estancia Resort & Spa in La Jolla was such a beautiful resort to explore and enjoy.  The Estancia is a high class resort while making you feel like you are home.  I never wanted to leave.  This La Jolla Resort is an incredible location for any Wedding, Reception, or just a great place to have your guests stay.  Love this place!

We got a chance to hang with the girls for some details shots first…

The bridal room at the Estancia La Jolla is incredible.  It is spacious and has great light.  There are is also a ton of cool furniture for us to play with.  I love the huge clock that hangs in the bridal room with the accent of the yellow couch.  Not to mention her Stewart Weitzman shoes that were classic and beautiful!

Once we got done with that we had a little time with the groom, Richard.  We had such a great time with Richard.  I could have spent another hour just photographing him.  He was silly, and relaxed the whole time.  We were eating it up!

Then his father / best man joined him and I saw right away where he gets his charm and character from.  Look at these two dashing men!

Once Robyn was ready we headed back to the room to get some shots of her and her sisters who were also her bridesmaids.  Robyn’s dress was so beautiful and I just loved the flower in her hair and the way her hair swept to the side.

The ceremony was set us as s circle and the couple stood in the middle.  The officiant, Clint Hufft, created such a magical service for them.  It was filled with personalization, and emotion.  It was honestly one of the most touching services I have ever attended.

I loved the way they set up the bowl of flower petals at the ceremony site for guests to grab as the couple walked back down the isle.

After the ceremony the petals made for a great place for the kids to play.  The flower girl looked so sunning surrounded by the white rose petals.

This one has to be one of my favorite images from the day!  Love the evening sky, love the bench, love the expression they both have.  So relaxed!  

We even made it to the Crossings in plenty of time for the happy couple to join and enjoy their cocktail hour.  The Crossings in Carlsbad is a golf course that have an incredible view from their event space.  The location sits on a hill overlooking the golf course and the ocean.  It is stunning!!!!

You might recogniz3e a few other wedding photogrpahers in theise next few pictures as the party starts to really get going!  I handed my camera off for a couple of the fun dance shots.  This one was grabbed by my good friend Garrett Delph of Garett Photography.  Yep, that is Bronson Pate of Bauman Photographers leaping over someone on the dance floor!  You can also see him cutting a rug with Jeff Youngren of The Youngrens in the next shot!

The girls were tearing it up too with a reenactment of the Thriller video from their days as professional ice skaters.  

No comment on this one accept that the photographer on the right got married this weekend!  Congratulation Jason!

And they danced till the VERY LAST SONG!  I have never seen a reception end on such a high note!  EVERYONE was on the dance floor for the last song and ready to keep going!  Honestly, I have been to a lot of weddings and this one goes down as the best dancing and best party I have every seen.

Jared and Sara, can you please please please through another party like this!  So much fun!

Once we got done by the out house we headed to the trees and Jared was nice enough to carry his bride to the new spot.  I did not even have to suggest it.  Such a gentleman!

Then it was time to “get married” so we headed to El Camino Christian Fellowship Church.  They were nice enough to let Jared and Sara’s pastor, Scott Wildey from The Flood, come to preform the ceremony.  He is awesome wait to see what he did during the ceremony….

One of the things I loved about this ceremony is that they decided to face the audience the whole time and the pastor stood at the bottom of the stairs in front of them so you had a clear view of the couple the whole time.  It was great and everyone enjoyed the service so much more that way.

So at one point in the service Scott, the pastor, decided that the greatest honor at this wedding would have to be to photograph a wedding photographer’s wedding so he pulled out his camera to make sure he got in a picture front and center.  It was AWESOME and hilarious.  I could not agree more with Scott.  It was an honor!
